
HERMINE VIRABIAN IS A FREELANCE JOURNALIST, PHOTO AND VIDEO CREATOR FROM ARMENIA
Hermine is a multimedia journalist graduated from Yerevan State University faculty of journalism and working in the field from 2013. She specializes in visual images: photos and videos.
The main topics of her interest include human rights, social issues, and justice. Hermine’s work has been published in local and international media outlets, exhibitions, and in a photo book.
One of Hermine's goals is to give a voice to people who are out of line, who need to be heard. Everyone has a story, and she tries to find them and bring them to the public.
From 2018 to 2019, Hermine did a Vaclav Havel Fellowship in RFE/RL in Prague and directed a 50 minutes documentary movie about Franz Kafka.
Now, Hermine is a master's student of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in the faculty of Multimedia Journalism and Media Management.
Moreover, she is a grantee of the One World Media Fellowship for 2020-2021. During the fellowship, she does a photo project about Yezidi children's and teenager's marriage in Armenia at the cost of their education, which mostly happens by the will of their families and community.
